A video piece exploring the relationship between the witches of Eastern Serbia and the diaspora communities that still make use of their services for divination and remediation from overseas. In particular, the film considers notions of statehood and expectations for the future of Serbia on the international stage.
The film was commissioned as part of the “Digital Diaspora” exhibition held jointly at Centrala in Birmingham, UK, and at Studio 44 in Stockholm, Sweden. It was also featured at the Supermarket Art Fair. It was also presented as part of the Witches Are Back feminist art event held in CSOA Forte Prenestino, Rome in February 2020.
